    First, if you can find a confinement nanny with at least 10 years of experience, $8,500/26 days is a reasonable price. Of course, if you've just arrived in the US, or this is your first contract, the price may be slightly lower.

    Scope of a confinement nanny's duties

    Cooking: In addition to the three meals a day and two snacks for the mother and father, a confinement nanny is also responsible for preparing meals for the rest of the family, but this costs an additional $10 per day.

    Nursing for the mother: This includes confinement meals and postpartum care, even including lactation support.

    Newborn care: Feeding, diaper changing, bathing, and coddling. Circumcision care is also included, but many confinement nannies charge an additional $300-500.
